Donald Sandel, 76 of Zanesville, passed away Friday, December 19, 2008 at his home. He was born March 26, 1932 in Omaha, Nebraska to John and Ruth Sandel. Don was in the USA Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the Moose Lodge in New Haven. He is survived by his wife, Cherie; sons Robert and Jim (Carolyn); daughter Julie (Steven) Lee; six grandchildren Toby Ward, Lindsey Sandel, James Sandel, Brittany Sandel, Jonathon Lee, and Autumn Lee; two great-grandchildren Destiny and Ronnie Ward; brother Jim; and sisters Kathleen, Joan, Rita, and Linda. Don is preceded in death by his son Rolland Ward and brothers Howard and John. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be on Monday at the funeral home between 4:00 and 8:00p.m.
