Obituary

Donald "Buz" D. Williams, 79, passed away, Sunday, July 25, 2021 at his home in Roanoke, Ind. Born on Nov. 20, 1941 in Fort Wayne, Ind., he was the son of the late Grover R. and Edith I. (Woodward) Williams. He graduated from North Side High School in 1960. After graduating he served three years in the U.S. Army, stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and discharged with the rank of Sargent. He worked 18 years at Peter Eckrich & Sons in Fort Wayne, Ind. in engineering and as a maintenance foreman, and in 2004, he retired from Precision Plastics in Columbia City, Ind. as a toolmaker. He was a member of the American Legion Post no. 160 in Roanoke, Ind., and spent eight years as an assistant leader with Boy Scout Troop no. 83 in Laud, Ind. His hobbies included golfing, fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his son, Randy Williams of Seattle, Wa., brother, Ron (Margie) Williams, of New Haven, Ind., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole "Niki" Williams.

A private committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Greenlawn Cemetary, 6750 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, Ind. Covington Memorial Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop no. 83, Laud, Ind.
