Doris Jean Snyder, 91, passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2024. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN on February 19, 1933, a daughter of the late Noel and Virginia Risk.

She will fondly be remembered for caring for her children, grandchildren, and neighborhood children and anybody else she could provide her maternal care to. Doris enjoyed cooking, baking Christmas cookies, baking pies, hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her six loving children, Douglas (Jo Ellen) Snyder, Stephen (Karen) Snyder, Martha (Bruce) Schroeder, Daniel (Julie) Snyder, Rebecca (Richard) Shroyer, James (Sonia) Snyder; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Snyder; and brother Noel Risk.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 4 to 8 pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46804.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 11 am with calling one hour prior also at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Lutheran Church, Animal Care and Control or Humane Fort Wayne.
