Doris D. Strayer, 93, passed away July, 5, 2021. Born in Decatur, IN, she was the daughter of Lee Byer and Ada (Detro) Byer. She married Donald Strayer on November 1, 1947. They were married 64 years before he preceded her in death. Doris graduated from Pleasant Mills High School then went on to Beauty School. She was a beautician and owned her own shop. She enjoyed crocheting and was an excellent cook. She made the best homemade potato salad and sugar cream pie. She was always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed help.

She is survived by her son, Daniel (Linda) Strayer, daughters, Diane (Cliff) Porter and Debbie Humphries, five grandchildren, Darrin, Sandy, Matt, Jason and Justin, five great-grandchildren, Bryce, Matt, Valerie, Madi and Winston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald and eight siblings.

Funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July, 13, 2021 with calling from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. prior at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, She will be interred at Covington Memorial Gardens.
