Dorla Jean Walker of Ft. Wayne IN was born on February 16, 1936. She left this life to rest in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus on April 17th at 4:30pm. She was a devoted prayer warrior, loving mother and wife. She served in the choir of Blackhawk Baptist church, until 1976 when her husband accepted a teaching position at Warner Christian Academy in South Daytona, FL. In 1980 he accepted a call to become the senior pastor at First Church of God in DeLand, FL. (Later named Lighthouse Christian Center). In 28 years of ministry with her husband Dave, Jean directed the daycare during its launch, preached and led the women's ministry which included encounter weekends, taught Sunday School, hosted and led the women's leadership small group, Bible studies, and a prayer group for the pastors wives of Deland. Jean served as minister of prayer both leading prayer meetings and encouraging people in intercessory prayer. She was very active in community gatherings for prayer and revival with other churches. As a worshiper she sang in the church choir and participated in the creative dance team. A wonderful cook, Jean enjoyed hosting family and friends for holidays and special occasions She also had a passion for worship expression.

After retirement Jean and her husband returned to Fort Wayne to live near their children. She is survived by her brother, Edward (Connie) White; sons,Michael (Jeanne) Mueller, Barry (Debra) Walker, Mark (Deana) Mueller, and Scott Mueller; daughter, Susan Molinski; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. David Dean Walker; Father, David White; Mother, Esther White; Brother, David White and son, Chris Walker.Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46804 with calling from 12 p.m. To 1 p.m. Service begins at 1p.
