Dorothy Elsie Marie (Strasburg) Heidbrink, 97, passed Friday, April 19, 2019.  Born November 19, 1921, she was raised by her maternal grandparents; after her mother, Esther Strasburg passed.  Dorothy had worked in the credit department for Franks Department Store and then Baker Acme Fuel as the secretary.   Dorothy was an active member of St. Michael Lutheran Church and had volunteered at Covington Manor Nursing Home.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Susan (Kirk) Scheeler of Fort Wayne, Sandra (Steve) Lange of Naples, Florida and David (Kathy) Heidbrink of Fort Wayne; half sister, Charlene Bloom of Fort Wayne; 6 grandchildren, Julie (Bart) Lehman, Jenny Charles, Jeff Scheeler, Greg (Liz) Lange, Kelly (Jim) Haney and Stephanie (Josh) Watson; two step grandchildren, James (Aye) Householder and Kimberly (Robert Lilly) Householder; 11 great grandchildren, Charlie, Nick, Kevin, Michael, Cody, Cheynne, Tyberios, Grayla, Kassi, Erica, Colton and several step great grandchildren; and one sweet great great granddaughter, Rayann.

Dorothy was preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Clarence Heidbrink, in 1993; and her furry friend, Emily.

Funeral Service is 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2019 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior.  Pastor Don Sandmann will be officiating.  She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.  Preferred memorials are to the St. Michael Lutheran Church or Heart to Heart Hospice.
