Dorothy Jean Williams, 79, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Newbern, Alabama, a daughter to the late Clifton and Luenette (Brooks) Atkins. She worked for Mossburg Industries, retiring in 2003. Dorothy enjoyed sewing and gardening. Surviving are her son, Gene Williams Jr.; grandchildren, Jawauna (Antonio) Parker, Jawaun Davis, Ashley (Randy) Warren-Holland and Gene Williams III; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Eddie (Leticia) Atkins and William (Judy) Atkins; sisters, Roberta Horn and Lois Hughes; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Gene Williams Sr.; brothers, Percy Atkins, Isom Atkins Sr., Robert Atkins Sr., and Clifton Atkins Jr.; and sisters, Elizabeth Bryant, Luenette Locklin, Audry Atkins, Maude Lapsley and Taylor Atkins. Funeral service 1:00pm, Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00am to 1:00pm prior to the service. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
