Earlene L. Macy, 98, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2018 in Kendallville, IN.  She was a longtime resident of Ft. Wayne, IN born on August 6, 1919 to the late Earl H. and Bertha L. (Nahrwold) Menefee.  Earlene was married to Samuel A. Macy in Ft. Wayne and had celebrated 56 years together before he passed away in 1993.

In her early married years Earlene was employed at a knitting mill which later converted to a WWII bomb sight factory.  She later stayed home several years with her sons before returning to work at the Fort Wayne Transit Co. in payroll until retirement.  Earlene received her education in both South Bend and Fort Wayne.

For many years Earlene enjoyed bowling with her husband in the General Electric Couples League.  She enjoyed golfing in the Fort Wayne area and spending winters with her husband in Biloxi, MS.  She loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She was a past member of Ft. Wayne Trinity Chapter OES and was active as an officer.

Surviving Earlene is her two sons, Ronald (Bonnie) Macy of Wolcottville, Indiana and Rodger (Gladys) Macy of Geneva, Illinois; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.  She also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Samuel; three brothers, Charles, Oscar and Chester; and two sisters, Dorothy and Lucille.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018, with Trinity Chapter O.E.S. conducting a Twilight Service at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling from 12:00 p.m. until service time.  Earlene will be laid to rest next to Samuel immediately following the funeral service.
