Edgar H. Chaney, 56, of Columbia City, died Saturday December 23, 2006 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur. Born March 11, 1950, he was a retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is survived by his wife, Connie of Columbia City; daughters, Juanita Minton of Hamilton, Stephanie (Thomas) Goodwin of Fort Wayne & Joyce (Calvin) Buettgenbach of New Haven; five brothers; four sisters; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Services 2 p.m. Thursday with calling two hours prior at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Calling Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens with military honors.
