Edith M. Schlup, 83, passed away Wednesday March 18th at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. A Fort Wayne native, Edith was a 1943 graduate of South Side High School. Her and her husband, Fredrick owned and operated Fruit and Produce Pre-packaging Company, serving Food Marketing Corporation and the Kroger Company for many years before retiring. She enjoyed garage sales, cooking, gardening and animals. Edith was the daughter of Lewis and Myrtle Banker who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her only son, Fredrick "Ricky" Schlup in 2003 and brother Dale. She married her husband Fredrick on July 1st, 1944, and would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. Survivors include her husband, daughter Carolyn (Eric) Shea of Celina, Ohio, granddaughter Lisa (Jerry) Bennett of Ft. Wayne, and three great-grandchildren Brandon, Alex, and Megan Bennett. The family wishes to thank Regency Place of Fort Wayne and Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home for their support and kindness. Private family services were held. Entombment in Covington Memorial Garden.
