Edna A. Silvers, 85, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital. Born in Ossian, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Milda (Witte) Werling. She was a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church and was the head cook for 25 years at the academy.
She is survived by her children, Thomas, Roger (Joann), Duane, Ron, Dean and Cheryl Silvers all of Fort Wayne; brother, Edgar Werling of Ossian; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Oat G. Silvers, Jr. in 1981; and a sister, Norma Nahrwold.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also Wednesday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m.at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church.
