Elda Adele (Pankow) Albers, 97, died peacefully Sunday February 25, 2018.  She was born on March 3, 1920 in Rockford, MN to the late Rev. William and Clara (Schroeter) Pankow.  Elda was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church Ft. Wayne.  She worked at Surgical Associates for many years before her retirement in 1985.

Surviving are her children; Jane (Rev. Thomas) Fields, Christine (Daniel) Tews, Gretchen (Terry) Breininger, Teresa (Dennis) Hockemeyer, Daniel Albers, Rev. David (Jill) Albers, 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Elda was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Oscar H. Albers, her daughter, Kathryn L. Dowden, two brothers, Rev. Erhard Pankow and Dr. Harold Pankow.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday March 2, 2018 at Lutheran Life Villages Chapel, 6723 S. Anthony Blvd. Ft. Wayne, IN with family visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Committal and burial will happen prior to the memorial service at Covington Memorial Gardens and Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials are to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Lutheran Life Villages.  www.covingtonmemorial.com
