Heaven became a much happier place with the welcoming of, Elnora Sheppard, at age of 86, on Thursday, December 29, 2011, the little lady with the golden heart and warm smile. She will be remembered for the genuine ray of sunshine she brought to anyone who met her.
Born on Oskya, Mississippi, Elnora, came to Fort Wayne with her husband, James, who preceded her in death in 1995. She was a member of South Wayne Baptist Church. She began working as a seamstress with Wolf & Dessaur then moved to Peerless Cleaners where she retired after 40 plus years as a bookkeeper. She became very involved with the American Business Women''s Association and was a long time member of the Auxiliary at American Legion Post 47.
She is survived by her brother, Luther Cutrer of Bogalusa; son, Tom of Fort Wayne; and her best friend, Zelia Parker of Fort Wayne.
Service is 7 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling three hours prior. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial are to Homebound Meals, who were very good to Elnora.
