Eloise Carol (Hook) Cook, 96, slept away peacefully into Jesus's embrace on Sunday, November 24, 2019.  Born in Hicksville, Ohio, at her grandfather's home, Eloise was a daughter to the late Ira and Elva (Hilbert) Hook.  Starting in her teenage years, Eloise worked at the home of the owner of Brown Funeral Home in Hicksville, Ohio.  Later, Eloise worked at Wayne Knitting Mills in Fort Wayne.  In November 1941, Eloise married the late, Donald Charles Cook, who passed in 1979. Eloise also worked at Midtown Sunoco Station in Fort Wayne, which Don owned. Eloise was a member of the Anthony Wayne First Church of God.

Eloise is survived by her children, William D. (Bonita) Cook, Patricia A. Deventer both of Fort Wayne and Dennis D. Cook of Cambria, California; brother, Vance Hook of Harlan, and four grandchildren, Brenda M. (Mark) Stauffer, Michael D. Cook, Brian J. Cook and Melinda (Scott) Mathis; and three great-granddaughters, Nicole A. Stauffer, Ashley M. Stauffer and Megan S. Stauffer.

Eloise was also preceded in death by her siblings, Leitha Evans, Dorothy Shanks, and Wayne Hook.

The family would like to thank Kingston Care for their excellent care and dedication to Eloise during the time of her residence. Your kindness and devotion will never be forgotten and is much appreciated.

Funeral Services will be held on 11 a.m., Monday, December 2, 2019, at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior.  Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Yates and Pastor Jerry Blanchard.  In addition, calling is also 2-6 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2019, at the funeral home.  Eloise will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens.  Preferred memorials should be directed to the church or Kingston Care.
