Enid V. Fairhurst, 99, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016. She was born in Defiance, OH on January 9, 1917 to the late John E. and Verda Hasselswerth and had lived in the Ft. Wayne area the last 32 years. Enid was a homemaker who deeply loved caring for her family. Enid daily read the newspaper from cover to cover and actively followed politics. She loved working crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.

Surviving is her son Michael (Mary) Fairhurst, daughter-in-law Christa Fairhurst, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Enid was preceded in death by her husband Richard Fairhurst in 1979 and a son Patrick in 2016 and a brother, Edwin Hasselswerth in 1984.
