Ernest "Ole Ern" Wagner, 92, of Avilla, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at home. The WWII Navy Veteran was stationed at Pearl Harbor 70 years ago. He retired from Zollner Corporation after 37 years of service. He was a life member and past commander of the American Legion Post 82. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Avilla. He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Shelly & Tom Bair of Fort Wayne; son, Bill Wagner of Avilla; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Bette in 1997; son, Ted Wagner in 2008; five sisters; and six brothers. Service is 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Calling is also from 3 - 7 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2010.
