Ernestine F. Hobbs, 97, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at The Village of Pine Valley in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born in Salem, MO to the late Claude and Ida O. (Shults) Reading. Ernestine married Marion F. Hobbs on June 2, 1942 and preceded her in death in 2001. She was very active in charity work with many years helping with garage sales and other events at the Rescue Mission's Women's Auxiliary. Ernestine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a woman strong in her faith and very active in the church. Ernestine is survived by her children, Nadine (Kenneth) Imel, Yvonne (Fred) DeBrine and Duane (Ronda) Hobbs; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters; two grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 10:30am with calling one hour prior at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation also from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Monday, October 31, 2022 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the resident activities at Lutheran Life Villages of Pine Valley.
