Essie Mae Hawkins, 97, passed away on December 8, 2024. She was born in Clarendon, Arkansas on May 12, 1927, a daughter of the late Elbert and Leona Baker.

She retired from St. Anne's Home after over 30 years of service.

In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mayola Hicks and Florestine (Gene) Rogers; four grandsons; 21 great-grandchildren; and 33 great-great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 23, 2024, with calling from 10 AM to 11 AM at Greater Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 2111 Edsall Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46803.

Burial will take place in Covington Memorial Gardens.
