Esther Effie Voirol, 89, of Fort Wayne, died on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Ashton Creek Nursing & Rehab with her family by her side. Born in Payne, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Amy (Nickleson) Sitcler. She is a member of the Antioch Lutheran Church. Esther was a nurse at St. Joe Hospital for over 30 years. Then in retirement she volunteered for over 20 years at Matthew 25, ASK Ministries, St. Andrew''s Soup Kitchen and New Haven Library.

Esther is survived by daughters, Joy (Kip) Luginbill of Hudson and Connie (Chet) Cochran of Canton, Ohio; sons, Keith (Odette) Turney of West Palm Beach, Florida and Rick (Connie) Meyer of Fort Wayne; daughter in law, Diane Turney of Crawfordville, Florida; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Esther is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, James C. Voirol, in 2003; son, Robert "Speed" Turney, in 2014; daughter, Diana Turney, in 1949; granddaughter, Veronica Turney, in 2006; brothers, Junior, Bud and Walter; sisters, Edna Coburn, Teresa Westrick, Dot McGaw and Katie Sitcler.

Funeral service is 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to the St. Andrew''s Soup Kitchen or Antioch Lutheran Church.
