Etta M. Manning, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday Feb. 22, 2008 at Heritage Park. Born June 30, 1925 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late William & Emma Steel. She worked at the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center where she was a facilitator. She was a Member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was a member of Mary''s circle prayer group and also attended Messiah Lutheran Church in Valdosta. GA. Etta was also a member of the Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, a ladies sewing club in Georgia, and she was active in a bowling league in Fort Wayne and Valdosta, Georgia. She is survived by her husband, Willie R Manning of Fort Wayne; sons, Willie E. (Rose) Manning, of Fort Wayne, Darrell A. (Angela) Manning of Fort Wayne, Steven D. Manning of Fort Wayne, and Dennis M. Manning of Lafayette; daughters, Dorothy M. (John) Rasheed of Fort Wayne, Beverly S. Davis of Fort Wayne, and Gail D. (David) Gorman of Fort Wayne; brother, Bennie Steel of Chicago; sister, Lucille Steel of Indianapolis; 19 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, and two brothers. Funeral service Wednesday Noon with visitation two hours prior at Zion Lutheran Church 2313 Hanna Street, Fort Wayne.
