Obituary

Evangeline "Angie" Axson, 78, was taken home to heaven, Friday, March 18, 2011. Born in Fort Wayne, on November 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Herman Bryant and Mary Copeland. She lived a fulfilling life working at GE, Fort Wayne Newspapers Route 69, Hardees, Wherlys Tavern, Main Street Bingo and countless Volunteer years at St. Patrick Food Bank. She enjoyed working Vacation Bible School at Third Street Church of God. She will be greatly missed here on earth as heaven receives her beautiful voice to the music she blessed so many with. "Our loss is heavens gain", she truly "fought a good fight and held onto her faith in Gods'' will."
She is survived by a daughter, Sherri Bidwell of Fort Wayne; son, Rick Boyd; 11 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Gable and Jenny Kessler.
She is preceded in death by her companion of 31 years, Paul Aguilar; sons, Keith Axson and Tom Boyd; daughter, Pamela Axson-Girardot; granddaughter, Tammy Boyd; great granddaughter, Aleshia Myers; sister, Ruth Mills; and brother, Robert Cramer.
Service is 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. Officiating will be Chaplain David Griebel. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials are to Parkview Hospice.
