Fern S. Hannie, 91, of Fort Wayne passed on Thursday, January 2, 2014. Born in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Erwin and Martha (Leichty) Stucky. She served her country during WWII in the Army Air Corps as a First Lieutenant in the medical corps. Her mission and passion in life was to help women reach serenity. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and noble friend. She was a member of Grace St. John''s Church.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ralph Hannie of Fort Wayne; sons, Dan (Joanne Wilson) Hannie of Wilmette, Ill and Tom (Betsy Dickerson) of New Haven; daughter, Susan (Larry) Goshorn of Leo.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen and Earl Stucky; and a sister, Erline Bluhm.

Funeral Service is 11 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the funeral home. She will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to the Hope House or Carriage House.
