Fern Elsie Bauman-Blauvelt, 90, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Covington Manor. She was born in Fort Wayne, daughter of the late Charles and Goldie Waters. She had worked at A&P grocery store as a clerk and then later at Sears taking catalog orders. She was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. A loving and caring wife, stepmother, grandma, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband, Neil Blauvelt; step-daughters, Judy Tracy, Linda Banks and Cyndi Pattison; several nieces and nephews; and five step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Bauman; brothers, Loren and Sherman Waters; and sisters, Ruth Aker, Jeanette Webb, Ollie Schlecht and Mary Waters.

Memorial Service is 11 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014 at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Road, with calling one hour prior. Officiating will be Rev. Jerrold L. Nichols. Preferred memorials are to the church. The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Covington Manor for the care they provided to Fern.
