Flavel Delano "Smitty" Smith, 83, died Monday, May 4, 2020.  He was born in West Liberty, Virginia a son to the late, Haskel and Nina (Coleman) Smith.  Flavel was a retired tree climber; he had worked for Barlett Tree Experts.

Flavel is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ora Grace (Lay) Smith; son, Wayne Smith; daughter, Kendra Smith; sisters, Carol Meadows, Wanda Hall, Evon Miller; and a grandson, Kayden Miller.

Flavel was preceded in death by a son, Kyle Miller; and a sister, Ann.
