Fred R. Mills, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday Oct. 30, 2007 at Hospice Home. Born April 9, 1928 in Chicago, he was a machinist at International Harvester and was a US Navy veteran. He was a member of Saint Michael''s Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 241. He is survived by his wife Betty Mills; daughters, Dorothy (Ken) Hitzeman of Atlanta, GA, Kathleen (Dan) Smith of San Clementy, CA, Marti (Doug) Mastrerson of Valparaiso, Stephanie Seitz of Roanoke, Jackie Frazier of Columbia City, Pamela Norris of Fort Wayne, Melody (Donald) Byrd of Mount Vernon, and Lori (Fred) Stroughton of Plymouth; step-sons, Steven (Sara) Hines of Fort Wayne, David Hines of Fort Wayne, and Robert (Lynn) Hines, of Jacksonville, FL. 23 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a grandson. Funeral service Noon Saturday with calling one hour prior at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd.
