Galen M. Darr, 80, passed away Friday, August 15, 2008 in Kendallville. He was born on December 11, 1927 to Merle and Hazel Darr. Galen was in WWII with the United States Army, was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2749 and American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse and retired from the City of Ft. Wayne. He is survived by his wife, Betty Darr; daughters Victoria Bell (Jeffery), Jennifer Martin; and Rebecca Neu; step daughters Barbara Wilhelm (William) and Deborah Beiswanger (Rick); 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother Tim Darr (Elaine); and sister Phyllis Kurtz (KW). Galen is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Grace, and sister Shirley. Funeral service will be 1:30pm on Monday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling there from 11-12:00 noon.
