Gary K. Froshaug, 62, of Fort Wayne and Syracuse, died Sunday, June 29, 2008 in Syracuse. Born in Fort Wayne on October 6, 1945, he was a graduate of Purdue University, member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, past-president of the Syracuse Condo Association and was an engineer for Dana Corp. in Antwerp. He enjoyed snow skiing and was a member of the Fort Wayne Ski Club. He was a longtime member of the Wawasee Yacht Club, having skippered boats in both the E-Scow & Lightning classes, and was very active in the Junior Sailing Program at the club. The family was touched by the special tribute paid to Gary with the flag at the Yacht Club flown at half staff. "A loving husband & father, his greatest joy was his daughter, Jessica. He knew that Jessica will be loved & cherished as much by her fiance, Chris, as she was by her father." Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Froshaug; daughter Jessica L. Froshaug of Indianapolis and her fiance, Christopher Larbes of Cincinnati, OH. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00PM Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road with calling two hours prior to services. Private entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
