Obituary

Gary M. Moore, 76, of Big Long Lake, Wolcottville passed away on Sunday August 23, 2026, with family by his side. He was born on August 28, 1949, in Fort Wayne to Elmer and Collette Moore. He married Linda S. “Suzi” Eidson on June 5, 1971.

He served in the Air National Guard and retired from MSPS in Kendallville in 2016. He was always busy establishing new business at work and at home, remodeling and then building his home on Big Long Lake. He enjoyed fast cars, motorcycles and being on the lake in his speed boat, “Lucious Linda”. He was gifted in Judo and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda; three children, Brett (Tanya) Moore, Rachel Moore and Andrew (Jessica) Moore; 13 grandchildren, Dylan Moore, Destiny Quackenbush, Madison Moore, Marissa Moore, Jayla Moore, Katie Parmley, Kaidance Wallen, Cayden Moore, Brianna Moore, Naomi Kornfield, Andrew Moore, Jr., Hunter Moore and Adlee Moore; nine great grandchildren, Evan Moore, Tylee Quackenbush, DaLuka Quackenbush, Octavia Finley, Haven Moore, Bren Finley, MJ Moore, Saskia Moore and Akari Towns. Also surviving are his siblings, Colleen (George) Wetzel, Darrel Moore and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Collette; a daughter Jaimi Moore and his older sisters, Carol Deitche and Doris Cassell.

A service celebrating Gary’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens.
