George Edwin Dunlap, 96, of Ft. Wayne, passed away Feb. 12 at The Cedars in Leo, Indiana.  He was born July 23, 1925 in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late Hubert and Grace (Baker) Dunlap.

George was a WWII Navy veteran who served on the USS Pyrope PYC-17 and the USS Colahan DD-658 in Pearl Harbor.  He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal, American Area Campaign Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal. He worked for International Harvester, retiring in 1976.

He is survived by his wife, Easter (Lewis) Dunlap; children, Herb (Lynnette) Dunlap, Debra Dunlap Bechdolt, and Joyce (Rick) Dunlap Ellison; grandchildren, Adam (Julia) Dunlap, Tonya Dunlap Jasper, Nathan (Reanna) Bechdolt, Kara (Troy) Bechdolt Ogden, Anne Bechdolt, Sabrina Ellison, and Chad Ellison; and great grandchildren, Caleb Dunlap, Corbin Dunlap, Jade Jasper, Jared Jasper, Faith Bechdolt, Elliott Bechdolt, Claire Ogden, Andrew Ogden, Chloe Ogden, and Kaylynn Ellison.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by two brothers; and son-in-law, Larry Bechdolt.

Family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 17 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd, Ft. Wayne, IN 46804, with service to follow at 1:00pm.
