George F. Jones, 71, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. George was a Union Local 213 laborer and a Viet Nam Army Veteran. He was a pro-fisherman and held a secret to his success until his final days, He prayed!

Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Teresa Jones, sons, George F. (Sheila) Jones Jr., Michael A. Jones, Adam J. (Emiley), Jones, Patrick J. Jones, Warren (Beth) Jones, all of Ft. Wayne, 8 granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons, siblings, Katie Campbell, Ohio, Virgie Compton, Ft. Wayne, Nancy Balough, Florida, Shirley Jones, Ft. Wayne, Tom Jones, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy James Jones, 1 granddaughter, Angel, siblings, Raymond, Bobbie, Lena, and Bill.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 20, 2016 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covingotn Rd. with viewing from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Chaplain Brice Bennett will be officiating. Military Honor''s provided by United States Army and American Legion Post 241 Waynedale. Preferred memorials are to Southern Care Hospice.
