Gerald Sylvester Bowlby Sr., 71, passed away on Tuesday February 18, 2014 at Covington Manor Nursing Home. He was born December 1, 1942. to the late Ralph and Josephine Bowlby. Gerald drove trucks 30 years for Teamsters Local 414. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Gerald loved to write poetry and learn about the American Indians.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Pamela (Billman) Bowlby, children, Marcy (Scott) Griebel, Gerald "BO" Bowlby Jr., Kelly (Brian) Hardy, Mark (Kristy) Bowlby, 5 grandchildren, Kelsie, Gavin, Blake, Kalynn, Langstyn and 1 great-grandchild, Xavier, siblings, Sharon Lopshire, Shirley Stillwell, Carolyn Pyle, Judy Schmidt and Robert, Ken, Howard and Mike Bowlby. He was preceded in death by Alfred, David and Janet.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church 1500 W. State St. with calling one hour prior to service. There will also be calling Friday 4-8 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Entombment will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
