Gerald L. Doehrman, 69, died Thursday July 11, 2013. He was born January 30, 1944 in Ft. Wayne to the late Martin E. and Irma C. Doehrman. Gerald went to Bethlehem Lutheran school and graduated from South Side High School in 1962. Gerald retired from General Electric after 32 years of service. He was also an Army veteran serving in Germany and Kansas. He liked I.U. games, watching westerns and old shows on television, bowling and for a number of years and gardening, family and playing card games on the computer. He was at Covington Commons assisted living the last 3 years until the last week he was at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home.

Surviving are siblings, Donald (Jean) Doehrman, Lloyd Doehrman, Lois and sister-in-law Carol Doehrman along with a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother Karl.

Service is 12:00 p.m. Tuesday July 16, 2013 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with calling 1 hour prior to service. There is also calling Monday 3-8 p.m. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery with graveside services provided by the United States Army and American Legion Post #241. Preferred memorial to Visiting Nurse.
