Gerald (Jerry) A. MacDonald, 70, passed on March 14, 2016. Born in Homestead, Pennsylvania on November 9, 1945, he was the son of the late William F. and Emma A. (Hasso) MacDonald. Jerry graduated from New Haven High School in 1963, and married his high school sweetheart on June 4, 1966.
Jerry started his career with Central Soya. He moved his young family to Indianapolis, Kansas City, and Independence, Missouri, eventually returning to Fort Wayne in 1973. In 1989, Jerry began G. A. MacDonald Associates, the independent insurance agency in Fort Wayne that bears his name.

Jerry is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Marsha; sons, David (Jennifer) and Gregory (Sandi) MacDonald of Fort Wayne and Michael (Kelli) of Leo; brother, William MacDonald of Fort Wayne; and 11 grandchildren (Kathryn, Emma, Madeline, Andrew, Miranda, Eli, Peter, Isaac, Luke, Alex, and William).

Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Bethay.

Calling will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, from 11 am - 1 pm with a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road.
