Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Paul Beauchamp, 83, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 20, 1941, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Paul and Ruth Beauchamp.

Jerry worked in the logistics business his entire life, beginning right after graduating from South Side High School in 1959. He started his own
business, Industrial Cartage, in the mid 1970's, which eventually evolved into SJB Enterprises, a logistics company still proudly run by three generations of family members. Jerry served as the President of Dana Truck Fleet, retiring after a long and successful career. His commitment to his work and his colleagues was evident in everything he did. Throughout his career, Jerry was known for his tremendous leadership and dedication, and he was sought after as an inspirational keynote speaker.

Jerry met the love of his life, Sarah Shultz of Warren, IN in 1961. Their marriage of 63 years was filled with laughter, joy and dedication, and
together they built a lifetime of cherished memories. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jerry took an active role in the
lives of his family, always sharing advice on life skills, humorous anecdotes, and even a lecture or two.

Jerry was a three-time All American volleyball player, honored to travel the country playing a sport that he loved. A forever Cubs fan, he also was a devoted racquetball player and golfer. Jerry was a past YMCA board member, was a Past Master of Sol D. Bayless Masonic Lodge #359, and a member of the Mizpah Shrine and the Scottish Rite, where he made lasting friendships and contributed to the community in meaningful ways. His sense of loyalty and his genuine care for others were hallmarks of his character, and his life's journey was one marked by love, compassion and an unwavering faith in God.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth Beauchamp, and his sister, Lou Ann Butler.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Sarah Beauchamp; children Brad (Leslie) Beauchamp, Jill Beauchamp Graber; grandchildren Emma (Alex) Beauchamp-Leavell, Nicolas Graber, Sydney Graber, Ava Beauchamp, Alex Graber; great-grandson, Leon Beauchamp-Leavell; and a network of friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
