Obituary

Gezina P. "Gina" Knipscheer, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed Monday, September 1, 2014 at Saint Anne Home. Born January 23, 1918, in Gendt, The Netherlands, the oldest daughter of Johannes and Maria ''"Elisabeth" Buurman. Gina and Jan moved their family to the United States in 1957. Gina was the co-owner and founder of Knipscheer Collision along with her late husband, Jan H. Knipscheer, 2004. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Fort Wayne Sport Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Elisabeth C. (Gary) Turpchinoff; sons, Fred J. (Jane) Knipscheer and Jan H. "Eric" (Martha) Knipscheer; sister, Riet Buurman; grandchildren, Maria "Ria" Wallace, Chris (Amy) Turpchinoff, Kelly Detrick, Paul (Stacy) Knipscheer, Philip Knipscheer, Patrick (Jordan) Knipscheer, Brian (Katie) Knipscheer, Freddie (Nicole) Knipscheer, Jamie Eby and Kelly Eby; great grandchildren, Madelyn, Marci, Meagan, Jordan, Alexis "Lexy", Grant, Devin, Henry, Olivia, Aiden, Griffin, Louis, Leah, Russell, Joseph, Kylie, Jack, Rylan, with one to be born this month.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Wim, Hend, Gros and Theo Buurman and two sisters, Leida Van Wissen and Nel Buurman.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday September 6, 2014 at St. Anne Home. She was entombed at Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to League of the Blind or Saint Anne Home.
