Gilbert Franklin "Gib" Morgan, 94, died on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Coventry Meadows. He was born in Jay County, son of the late Ernest and Lela Mae Morgan. Gib proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII; and was an American Legion member. He was a retired machinist from Lawrence Laboratories out of California.
He is survived by daughter, Joyce (David) Arenas; step children, Juanita Hardy and Leoma Gouge; 15 grandchildren, Christopher, Mike Chapel, Vicki Real, Dominic Wilson, Mary Peyton, Lisa Jones, Debra Knight, Bridgett Stone, Walter Gouge, Shirley West, Bill harty, Jr., Jeff Harty, Tonya Trevino, Frankie Russel and Chrissy; 30 great grandchildren,, Brittany, Joey, Greg, Shawnte, Tiffany, Kaprecia, Ruby, Aleena, Caleb, David, Crystal, Elizabeth, Joshua, Travis, Tug, Jonathon, Joshua, Misty, Bill, Ryan, Jeremiah, Melissa, Jeffrey, Robert, Juanita, Caleb and Nicole; 25 great great grandchildren, Leila, Kellen, Kameron, Noah, Mia, Elaina, Laya, Ryan, Dominic, Autumn, Zander, Maximus, Gunner, Chloe, Wyatt, Autumn, Chad, Joseph, Michiel, Faith, Briana, Kaycee, Nikki, Robert and Jackson; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Marie; second wife Mary Louise; son, Sammy Morgan; step son, Frank Russell; brothers, Jess, Cecil, Paul "Doc", Dwayne and Lee Destan Morgan; sisters, Sylvia Walker and Erma Miller; one grandson, Paul Gilbert Russel; and one great granddaughter, Samantha.
Funeral Service is 4:30 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. He will be laid to rest at Crown Hill City Cemetery, in Salem, Indiana.
