Gloria Lee Smith, 83, went home to her Lord and Savior Thursday, August 2, 2018 surrounded by her family.  Gloria was born June 13, 1935 in Welch, West Virginia to the late Roy and Bertha Felts.  She was a gracious homemaker and wife to a senior pastor for 60 years.  Over the years she loved singing, music, was an honor student, mentor and chef. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes for herself and family.

Surviving are her daughter, Rhonda (Wendell) Golden, grandson Spencer (Brie) Golden, sisters, Sue (Jimmy) Racine, Kathy (Jimmy) Cooper, sister-in-law, Verla Felts, brother-in-law Johnny Shirley, 18 nieces and nephews and a host of great-nieces and nephews along with the extended Smith family.  Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Pastor Truman Smith, siblings, Arnold Felts, Elwood (Faye) Felts, Nadine (Jack) Williams, Gail (Charlie) Atkins, Joyce Shirley.

The family wants to extend special thanks to church members, friends, and family who cared for her with special appreciation to the primary caregiver Holly Thiebaut.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday August 8, 2018 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with viewing 1 hour prior to service.  There is also viewing Tuesday August 7, at the funeral home from 2:00 – 4:00 and 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.   Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse and Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association. www.covingtonmemorial.com
