Goldie J. Smithson, 86, died Saturday March 23, 2012 at her home. Born September 3, 1925 in Branchland WV to the late Walton and Stella Baker. Goldie was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and great-great-grandmother that enjoyed Sunday family Breakfast and Saturday night gospel singing. Surviving are her children, Stella (Jack) Walker, Auburn, IN, Ronald (Bobbie) Smithson, Churubusco, IN, Rodney Keith (Kellie) Smithson, New Haven, IN, Rita (Steve) Paine, Orland Park, IL, Carolyn Gail Terry, Jackson, MI, Robin Dell''Aquila, Ft. Wayne, IN, Frankie Smithson, Ft. Wayne, IN, son-in-law, Deitrich Phelps, Jackson, MI, brother, Arvin, sisters Mary, Eula Mae, 18 grandchildren, Jack, Joe, Ron Jr.,Cindy, Veronica,Cougar, Chris, Josh, Tabitha, Mike, Stevie, Jamie, Shane, Christina, Jason, Goldi, Robin Nicole, Timmy, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Numerous Nieces and Nephews She was preceded in death by her husband Earl in 1995, daughter, Sue Ann Phelps in 2009, 3 grandchildren, Tommy, Matthew Dewayne and Jaxon. Service is 12 Noon Wednesday March 28, 2012 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with calling 1 hour prior to service. Calling also Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
