Gordon "Doc" Howell, 97, passed Wednesday, April 12, 2017. He was born in Modoc, Indiana, to the late Edward and Margaret Howell. Growing up Gordon had worked on the farm, he then moved to the Fort Wayne area and started working at Tokheim and Eckrich. He then got into the automotive world starting at Rousseau as a car salesman, then he ventured into his own business starting with, Braden & Howell Motors, being a Hudson Automotive dealer, United Auto Parts and Goshen Motors, just to mention a few, eventually retiring from Sears. He was a 75 year member of the Mizpah Shrine. Gordon was a member of St. Joe Methodist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 77 years, Wanda L. Howell; son, Doug (Marsha) Howell; grandchildren, Mindy (Philip) Rife, Angie (John) Lauer, Tonya (Jason) Cannell and Jessica (Jeff) Huffman; and three great grandchildren, Cassie, Ian and Jacob.

He was preceded in death by five siblings, Opal Driver, Edith Pittinger, Hazel Robinson, Harold and Howard Howell.

Private Funeral Services were held. He was laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite.
