GRETCHEN ANN BREININGER, 73, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully on January 18, 2023. Gretchen was born October 27, 1949, a daughter of Oscar and Elda Albers. She grew up in Fort Wayne, attended Concordia Lutheran High School, and worked for Baltes Cardiology and Concordia Lutheran Church where she was a longtime member. She is survived by her husband, Terry Breininger; children Tara (Eric) Bustos, Adam (Amanda) Breininger, and Sean (Allison) Breininger; grandchildren Isaac (Rose), Dean and Abby Bustos, Aidan and Maddy Ford, Maggie and Ben Breininger, Maya Breininger, and great-grandson Elliott MacGregor; siblings Jane (Rev. Tom) Fields, Christine (Dan) Tews, Teresa (Denny) Hockemeyer, Dan Albers, and Rev. David (Jill) Albers and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Kathy Dowden. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 4-6pm and the funeral will be January 23, 11am with a viewing one hour prior.
