IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harlan "Corky"
Woodmansee
January 2, 1931 – December 23, 2022
Harlan "Corky" Woodmansee, 91, passed away, surrounded by his family, on Friday, December 23, 2022 at StoryPoint Senior Living in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born January 2, 1931 in Wichita Kansas, he was the son of the late Harlan C Woodmansee Sr. and Opal Marie (Butts) Woodmansee. He graduated from Arsenal Tech H.S. in 1951, in Indianapolis, IN. He met the love of his life, Kathryn Ann Smith and they married August 24, 1951. He served his country in the Korean War from 1951-1953 in the United States Army. He then graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN with a business degree in 1956. He worked for the Woodmansee Foods family business for 10 years before spending the rest of his career in sales, retiring in 2001. He loved traveling with his family to Florida and Sea Island, GA, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, reading and babysitting his "granddogs". Above all else, he loved spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Corky was a character, full of spunk, and one of a kind. He never knew a stranger and whether you knew him for a life-time or only an hour, he was your friend for life. He was fun loving and could light up a room, life of the party some might say. He could captivate an audience with the stories he would tell. Corky is survived by his daughters, Sheri (Michael) Mulligan and Joan (Richard) Smith; graddaughters, Alexandra Smith, Kathryn (Luke) Hagy, Caroline Smith, Noel (Bryan) Reuter and Brittney (Jeff) Hanson; great-grandchildren, Everly Reuter, Harper Hanson and Greyson Hagy; and sisters, Carol Mosby, Sondra (Charles) Thompson and Karen Woodmansee. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Ann Woodmansee. Funeral service 12:00pm, Monday, January 2, 2023 in Covington Memorial Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Hospice. Burial, with military honors, in Covington Memorial Gardens.
