Hazel Duncan, age 85, passed away July 1, 2009 at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, IN. She was born May 7, 1924 in LaFollette, TN to Fred and Virginia Avis. She married Henry Duncan and she was a homemaker. Two sons, Dale Duncan (Julie) of Euless, TX and Ronald Duncan of Naperville, IL and five daughters, Karen Duncan of Indianapolis, IN, Dawn Kaiser(David) of Ft. Wayne, Donna Martin(Duane) of Ft. Wayne, Gwen Veljkovic of Ft. Wayne, and Brenda Latta(Phil) of Auburn, IN survive Hazel. One brother, John Avis of Honolulu, HI and two sisters Wilma Tison and Ruth Avis both of Jacksonville, FL, also survive her. Her parents, husband and a sister, Helen Avis in infancy, precede her in death. Funeral Services will be Saturday July 4 at 10:00 am at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens.
