Helen Bennett , 86, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Covington Manor Nursing Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Bedford, IN, Helen worked as a manager with Sears for 30 years. She was a member of Anthony Wayne First Church of God and the Odd Couples square dancing club. She enjoyed playing cards and square dancing.

Surviving are her sons, Michael Bennett of Fort Wayne and James D (Jean) Bennett of Kent, WA; daughter, Connie Bennett of Huntingburg, IN; sister, Phyllis Allen of Bedford, IN; 3 grandchildren and over 50 nieces and nephews around the world . Helen was preceded in death by her husband and dance partner, Claude L. Bennett; parents Alva and Kate Smith, grandson, Scott Milne, brothers, John Smith and E. Richard Smith and sister, Donna Short.

Funeral Service is Thursday, 2:00 p.m. April 25, 2013 at Anthony Wayne First Church of God, 6012 South Bend Drive with calling from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Pastor Jerry Blanchard officiating. Burial in Covington Memorial Garden Cemetery Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation of America.
