Helen M. Goshert, 93, died Tuesday morning August 26 at Renaissance Village where she has been a resident since 2003. Mrs. Goshert was born in 1915 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a graduate of Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, attended Butler University, and taught elementary classes in Indianapolis. In 1935, she married Dr. Joe L. Goshert, a dentist, and moved to Ft. Wayne, where she worked at Wolf and Dessauer for a few years. In 1941, the Army moved the Gosherts to Spartanburg, South Carolina and later to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. When her husband was sent overseas in 1944, Helen moved back to Ft. Wayne with their daughter Joan. After raising their four children, Helen and Joe enjoyed living and playing golf on the west coast of Florida for five months every year. In 1993, they moved back to Ft. Wayne. They were blessed with 67 years together. Mrs. Goshert is survived by her sons Jeffery T. (Cynthia) and Dr. Phillip (Marjorie); daughters Jean (Stanford) Parrish and Joan (Carl) Schafer; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
