Helen Leone Kreider, 94, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at home in Fort Wayne, IN. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Helen was a daughter of the late Joseph and Flora (Doonan) Hull. She married Charles L. "Shorty" Kreider on February 3, 1945, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2002. Helen was an active member of Elmhurst Church of the Nazarene. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Lutheran Health Society. Helen and Shorty enjoyed traveling and were winter Texans for 25 years. She liked to read, crochet, and knit and was extremely crafty. Surviving are her children, Sandy (George) Winans and Mike (Sandy) Kreider; 7 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren. Helen was also preceded in death by six siblings. Funeral service 1:00pm, Monday, July 10, 2023 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00am to 1:00pm prior to the service. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Stillwater Hospice or Elmhurst Church of the Nazarene.
