Helen Deanna Roeger, 77, passed Saturday, February, 24, 2018 peacefully on her birthday.  Born in New Haven, she was a daughter to the late Hugh and Velma (Venus) Shadle.  She had worked for Regency Place and the Holiday Inn.  Helen was an active member of the West Main Nazarene Church.

Surviving are her children, Barb Bird of Fort Wayne, Betty (Steve) Greider of Fort Wayne, Linda (Richie) Henkenius of Decatur, Albert (Laura) Jackson Fort Wayne, Debbie Pollard Fort Wayne and Donna (Mark) Hormann New Haven; step son, Bryan Roeger of Fort Wayne; 7 grandchildren, Nate, Kyle, Jeremy, Wesley, Tony and Ashley; and 4 great grandchildren, Isaiah, Nathan, Talyson and Hope.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 20 years, Edward Roeger, Jr., in 2014; step daughter, Kyna Spillers; grandson, Christopher Dewalls; and all of her siblings, Alice Hetrick, Doris Cox, Phyllis Brown, Raymond, Paul, Patrick and Donald Shadle; sons in law, Lester Bird and Herbert Pollard.

Service is 1:00 p.m. Wednesday February 28, 2018 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., with calling 1 hour prior to service. Officiating will be Rev. Sandra White.  Calling is also 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.  Preferred memorials to West Main Nazarene Church.
