Helene Elfriede Lilly, 83, passed Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Woodview Waters Community. Born June 24, 1934 in Eisfeld, Thuringen, Germany, daughter to the late Oscar Julius Heinrich and Hertha (Fischer) Heinrich. After WWII, she met and married her husband Lloyd while he was stationed in Germany. After the birth of their children and his services in the Air Force, they brought their family to the United States in 1955. She retired from Parkview Hospital as a Phlebotomist. Helene was a member of the Fort Wayne Maennerchor and Fort Wayne Tatting Guild. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

She is survived by children, Ronald Lilly of Eagan, Minnesota and Sonja Lilly of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several relatives in Germany, including her sister in law, Anna Heinrich.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Lloyd Dean Lilly, in 1993; and a brother, Ernest Heinrich, in 2013.

Funeral Service is 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 28, 2017 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2-5 p.m., Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the funeral home. The choir will be honoring Helene in song at 4 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred Memorials are to the church or Hospice Home.
