Iantha McGee, 87, of Fort Wayne, went home on June 19, (Juneteenth) 2024. She was born in Sardis, Alabama on June 4, 1937, the daughter of the late Eddie Mack Daniels and Lena Bell Daniels Walker. She was the second oldest of eleven children.
Iantha worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant for over 30 years, retired, and then returned to work as it was her true passion. She was the mother of the church, she believed that in her house, "we will serve the Lord." She raised her family deeply in faith. She loved her bible and being a Sunday School teacher. In her spare time, she loved gardening with her great-granddaughter, Anaya, singing, and word puzzles. Music made her happy and you would see her dancing around with her family and joking with them. She will be remembered for her humorous personality.
She is survived by six children, Leslie Jr., Willa, Lee (Sheila), Larry, Ronnie, and Cynthia (Frank); grandchildren, Javette, Marcus, Sheena, Preondra Shane, Tiwon (Gwen), Tristan, Marquan, Candace, Cherelle, Dionne, Stephanie, Yolanda, Shanatria, and Omar; a host of great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, special great-great-grandson, Kaysen "Dooter" Walker; siblings, Luscious and Wendell Daniels, Robert McCord, Rosemary Burns, Ruthie Casey, Alice Hayes, Margarett Cassell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by daughters, Rosemary Hill and Sandra Faye McGee; nieces, Tammy Brown and Erisha Mcinnis; grandchildren, William "Bj" "R&Breed" Paschall Jr.; grandson, Orlando "Peterman: Lanier; great-grandson, LaMarcus Erritt Jenkins; and siblings, Lorraine Gates, Rosalyn Ebarhart, Willie Mack Daniels and Mass Daniels.
Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior, from 11 am to 12 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
