Dr. Jack L. Black, 83, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014. He was born April 3, 1930 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Paul R. and Goldie Black. Jack was an Optometrist for 50 years in various cities in Indiana. He was a Navy Corpsman Veteran during the Korean War and a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Joretta Black, children, Gina (Bradford) Durham, Gary Black, sisters, Judith Strate, Jean Boyles, grandchildren, David, Lauren, A.J., Ross, Kaitlyn and great-grandchildren, Hailie, Kylie, Matthew, and Landon. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Black.

Service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2132 Getz Rd. with calling 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to St. Michael Lutheran Church or Donor''s Choice.
