Jack "Jay" W. Freed, 82, died Thursday, March 3, 2016. He was born November 22, 1933 in Muncie, IN to the late Taylor and Letha Freed. Jay was a member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was a veteran of the United States Air Force 1951-1955 having served during the Korean War in Korea and Louisiana and a member of American Legion Post 499. He was a sheet metal worker for 34 years at ITT and retired in 1989.

Surviving is his wife Rita M. Freed, Ft. Wayne, daughter Debra (Billy) Marks, Goshen, IN, sons, Michael Freed, High Point, NC, Bruce (Martha) Freed, Ft. Wayne, 6 grandchildren, Jerry, Brandy, Colleen, Bruce, Alex and JaMae'', 14 great-grandchildren. Jay was preceded in death by sisters, Myrtle Hutson and Nina Upchurch.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday March 7, 2016 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with calling 1 hour prior to service. There will also be calling Sunday March 6, 2016 at the funeral home from 2 - 6 p.m. Preferred memorials are to Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
